Paraw Regatta is like a crossbreed between Zamboanga's famous Vintas and the street art in UP Diliman that I truly admire back in college. It's how you picture a boat and sketch it on your pad when you were a kid -- a simple triangular sail, and a banana-shaped boat. Apply your Da Vinci talent to the sail. Add some seawater and sand. The result is a collision of color, people and fun!

Paraw Regatta is actually a race. Paraw means a sailboat in Hiligaynon, the local dialect, and Regatta is a boat race. the main objective of the event is to promote tourism in the locale, and "to preserve the paraw as a legacy from the earliest period of Ilonggo history."
